Are you aged 11-25? Interested in History and Heritage? TOF is launching an exciting new project looking into British Asian’s stories of emigration, memories of Partition and our identities.

This project will explore 70 years of India’s independence from Britain; looking at India’s impact on the UK and vice versa, and the shared heritage between the two nations. With the overarching theme of independence, we will explore cultural exchanges and influences through the medium of cinema and memorable films over the past 70 years.

We’re looking for young volunteers to be at the heart of the project interviewing older members of the community, recording their stories and contributing to the TOF documentary film and exhibition that will be produced to be screened at our 20th London Asian Film Festival in March 2018. Volunteers will receive training in oral history recording, archiving and other specialist skills to participate.
