Insha’Allah Democracy

Director: Mohammed Naqvi
Pakistan, 82 mins, 2017, English

In the years leading up to his first time voting during Pakistan’s elections, filmmaker Mohammed Naqvi set out to document his personal journey of exploring the evolution of Pakistani democracy. During this time he had unprecedented access to interviewing and documenting the candidates including controversial former leader of Pakistan, General Musharraf. A must-see political documentary, INSHA’ALLAH DEMOCRACY chronicles one voter’s journey to examine what role democracy plays in an unstable militant country and what hope there is, if any, of change, reform and progress.
