Tongues on Fire, UK Asian Film Festival is inviting VFX and Film Students to hear inspirational VFX artist Laraib Atta talk about her journey and career as the youngest Pakistani female VFX artist.

Laraib Atta is a VFX artist based in London who started her career in 2006, aged 19 years old to receive the title of the youngest Pakistani and only woman from the country to be working at a professional level. Her projects include: Sweeney Todd; Chronicles of Narnia and 10,000 BC. She has worked with VFX companies including MPC, Framestore, The Mill, Aardman Animation, BBC, Sky TV and now Dneg.

Her recent project Netflix’s Altered Carbon was nominated for an Emmy and she herself was nominated for Visual Effects Society Award. She was part of the new Mission Impossible Fallout which grabbed headlines across her country, Pakistan. She is a TEDx speaker who motivates younger generations, empowering women and representing minorities in the creative industries. She has produced a short film and recently joined a podcast to represent ethnic minorities in digital arts.
