LAFF Travels To Edinburgh

Tongues on Fire are delighted to announce the 1st Edinburgh Asian Film Festival (EAFF 2016, 3rd-5th June).

This trailblazing event brings Asian cinema to the Edinburgh cultural landscape. The venue for EAFF 2016 is the city’s iconic Filmhouse. EAFF showcases the best films from the London Asian Film Festival (LAFF 2016). EAFF 2016 offers viewers a bounty of border-breaking and boundary-pushing cinema, including several Scottish premieres. The festival features Yemen’s first female filmmaker and spotlights the burgeoning Pakistani and Indian indie film sectors. EAFF’s exciting mix of entertaining and enlightening films has been carefully programmed to animate cross-cultural appeal. Festival screenings will be accompanied by stimulating Q&A sessions, featuring erudite experts and foregrounding audience participation. Overall, this path-breaking festival provides a long-awaited portal for Edinburgh audiences to access Asian cinema.
